3-The Order Processa. Placing Your Order
Internet-Just browse our offerings, add selections to your shopping cart, review your order, then checkout securely online.
A word about our shopping cart. Our shopping cart will retain your order for 30 minutes with no activity, so, if for instance, you are interrupted during shopping or you lose your connection, you can access our website again and continue shopping where you left off without having to start over with an empty cart.
E-mail, Fax, Mail, Phone Orders-We do not accept orders via E-mail, Fax, Mail or Phone at this time.
b. Out of Stock Products-Backorders
We will strive to have all products in stock at all times, but inevitably, there will be times when we will be out of a product. We do not accept orders for out of stock merchandise. Please check back with us in a week or so to see if the item you were wanting has arrived in our warehouse.
c. Last Call
Orders requiring expedited shipping i.e., UPS Next Day AirŽ or UPS 2nd Day AirŽ must be received by 3:00 PM Eastern Time in order to allow adequate time for picking and packing.
d. Holiday and Vacation Shipping Schedule
UPS does not ship or deliver on the following days, nor will we be in the office.

e. Shipping Destinations
Presently, we only offer shipping for online orders to the 48 contiguous states. If you would like to place an order and have it shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Peurto Rico, Canada, Mexico, the Bahamas or the Virgin Islands, e-mail us with the items you would like to order along with a complete shipping address. We will reply with a shipping and handling quote and at that point you can decide whether or not you want to submit the order.
f. Shipping Options & Delivery Expectations
Standard shipping-We currently ship all orders via UPS GroundŽ, unless another shipping method is requested at the time the order is placed. For orders shipped within the continental US, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, expect delivery within 2 to 7 days from shipment date depending upon your distance from our warehouse. Generally, orders for in-stock products will leave our warehouse the following business day (see our holiday/vacation calendar for exclusions), but orders arriving on Friday (particularly late in the day) may not ship out until the following Monday. Expedited Shipping Options-We offer UPS Next Day AirŽ and UPS Second Day AirŽ as options in addition our standard shipping. These orders will ship out the same business day (see our holiday/vacation calendar for exclusions) as long as they are placed prior to the Last Call Time of 3:00 PM Eastern time.
Orders specified for:
- UPS Next Day AirŽ shipping will generally arrive the following morning by 10:30 AM, i.e. orders placed on Thursday will generally arrive on Friday, although, orders to some address will not arrive until noon or even the end of the day
- UPS Second Day AirŽ shipping will arrive two days later i.e. orders placed on Wednesday will arrive on Friday.

j. Shipping Restrictions
ORM-D (Other Regulated Materials)-Materials that are classified as ORM-D by the Department of Transportation can only be shipped ground. Items that are classified as ORM-D will be so noted in the product descriptions.
Oversize-Oversize items as noted in the product descriptions will incur additional shipping and handling charges.
k. Payment Options
We presently accept payment via DiscoverŽ, VISAŽ, MasterCardŽ and American Express.
We also accept personal and company checks and money orders.
We do not accept COD orders.
l. Sales Tax
Virginia law requires us to collect sales tax at a rate of 4.5% for all orders shipped to addresses within the state (Commonwealth of Virginia).
m. Canceling or Changing an Order
If you would like to cancel or change your order, please call us as soon as possible after placing it. You can reach us at (434) 239-7338. We will do our best to locate your order prior to it leaving our warehouse. Please have your order number and customer information handy when you call us. Since we generally ship within 24 hours, it may not be possible to change or cancel an order; however, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
4-Problems with Your Order?a. Damaged Defective Product
If you received the product damaged or it appears to be defective, please send us an e-mail at customerservice@practicalsailingsolutions.com or give us a call at (434) 239-7338.
b. Short shipments
If you did not receive item(s) that you ordered or you received less than the quantity you ordered please send us an e-mail at customerservice@practicalsailingsolutions.com or give us a call at (434) 239-7338.
c. Wrong item shipped
If you received something different from what you ordered send us an e-mail at customerservice@practicalsailingsolutions.com or give us a call at (434) 239-7338.
d. New Product Returns & Refunds
If you wish to return merchandise that has not been installed and is complete with the original packaging in new and unused condition for credit or exchange, please follow the return procedures below.
e. Returning a Product
We ask that you return the item in the original packaging if possible. Please carefully pack the item in a protective cardboard shipping box, not just the product display box, if one was included. UPS no longer accepts items wrapped in paper, they must be boxed.

*UPS includes insurance for each package up to a maximum value of $100.00 for the package contents; additional insurance if required, can be purchased.
Please enclose the packing slip (a photocopy will do) and a note letting us know why you are returning the item and whether you would like a replacement, exchange, or refund (Items ordered on credit cards can only be credited back to the original purchasing credit card). It is very important that we know your reason for returning the item. For instance, if the product isn't as represented, isn't of the quality you expected, is the wrong color or size, or you ordered what you thought was the correct size, but it doesn't fit, please let us know. Your input may prompt us to make changes in the product description or even eliminate the product from our offering.

Sailing and boating in general presents some inherent risks. Please be aware of these risks around boats and the water. Obey boating regulations, these rules and regulations are meant to protect you your crew, passengers and others on the water.
Stewardship
Please act in an environmentally conscious way, not only while you are on the water, but at home as well. Don't dump solvents, poisons, petroleum products and chemicals in sanitary sewers (sink or toilet), storm water drains, or for that matter on the ground or street. Over time, even these substances that are not poured directly down a drain will end up in local waterways through runoff and percolation.
